Note to iPod Touch users: Only 2nd generation or higher iPod Touches with an external microphone (e.g. headset) are suitable for dictations with Dictamus.

For Dragon Naturally Speaking (5 stars)
I have only used this for a short time but the features are better than those I have on various mid-range priced digital voice recorders. I have a locked down Windows Vista laptop I use for work and am not allowed to install 3rd party software, such as required for digital voice recorders. Dictamus (5 stars)
As a long time user of dictation services I was nervous when I had to switch to Dictamus on iPhone4. Now that I have used it a few times i love the efficiency and convenience. Tech support was helpful in setting up online connections for sharing.

I also like the voice activation and "tape" manipulation features.

I wrote a 4-star review previously; I'm upgrading to 5. I am very pleased (as is my transcriptionist) with the smaller file size, with no loss of quality. Now that I've upgraded to a 4s the speed is great too. I couldn't be happier!
