Love it! (5 stars)
My 3 year old son learned to write the uppercase alphabet as well as his name from us using this app. It has a few bugs, eg. when ipad is rotated, it can loose the letter tracings, but don't let that deter you from trying it with your kids. There is a safety feature to help prevent accidental in-app purchase of PDF maker.

Verbal praise (4 stars)
No verbal praise when letter is completed. How do children know if they stayed inside the lines and did a good job unless an adult tells them they did?

Useful free tool (4 stars)
For free, this is a very nice practice tool for preschoolers to learn to write and identify their letters. My son gets a little bored with just writing the letters and frequently starts drawing on the page, so it's nice that app doesn't do any validating but gives the kids the freedom to do what they want. I'm also thankful that they have an easy settings panel to turn off purchasing.
