KnittingHelp Video Reference by Outer Limits Media

KnittingHelp Video Reference Screenshots

Description

Recently updated! Now includes a video search feature and a searchable list of knitting abbreviations. Also, the app includes several new videos and is roughly 150MB smaller.

The ever popular KnittingHelp.com knitting videos are now available for the iPhone/iPod touch. All 150+ videos from the website have been organized and added to this knitting video reference app. The videos are stored within the app and not streamed, so there is no need for an Internet connection to watch them. This means you can access the videos instantly from anywhere. On an airplane? Not a problem. You will have at your fingertips access to numerous cast-on methods, bind-offs, increases and decreases, stitch patterns and a whole lot more. If you want to know if a particular subject is covered, I'd recommend going to http://www.knittinghelp.com. The free videos on the website are the same as found in the app.

Knitting Video Categories include:

* Getting Started
* Cast-On
* Knit
* Purl
* Fixing Mistakes
* Stitch Patterns
* Bind Off
* Increases
* Decreases
* Joining Yarn
* Knitting in the Round
* Color Knitting
* Advanced Techniques
* Finishing/Seaming
* Glossary

Also Amy Finlay has included an introduction section to help new knitters get up to speed. The introduction covers topics such as choosing a first project, selecting yarn and needles, casting on, knit and purl stitches, gauge, and more.

We will be maintaining this app in sync with the website. So when new video content is added to KnittingHelp.com, it will make its way to the KnittingHelp Video Reference.

NOTE: Just like on the website, some of the smaller videos do not have sound and are meant to be followed visually. These are typically simpler videos such as increases and decreases and are very easy to discern by watching. I have noticed some reviews where people have mentioned that certain videos that definitely have sound, do not have sound for them. Please make sure the mute button is not toggled and that the volume is adjusted properly. All videos that do not have sound display a short overlay stating that the video does not include audio. If a video doesn't have sound and doesn't display that overlay, check to make sure your device is not muted and the volume is up.

This is a fairly large app due to the inclusion of all the video files. You will need about 600MB of space available on your iPhone or iPod Touch to install this application.

Best knitting app! (5 stars)
2/2011- update

The new update is excellent! I really appreciate the ability to search! Now I can easily find the video I need! Thanks KH!

This app takes a little longer to download, but it's worth it and it's so handy to have in your pocket or bag when you need it! New knitters will especially appreciate the Knitting Introduction with it's clearly written information and linked videos. I've been knitting for a few years now

Excellent! (5 stars)
I really like this app. When I'm at home I go to the Knittinghelp.com website to refresh my memory on how to do a technique (buttonholes, for example), but I often knit while I'm waiting in the car pool lane at my son's school or while waiting for my girls to get out of preschool or at Starbucks or, or, or... you get the idea. I knit everywhere. So, if I forget how to P2tog tbl when I'm away from my computer, I have to hope I remembered to b

Great reference (5 stars)
Whether I don't know how to do something, forget how to do something, or need to correct a mistake, this app has come in handy so many times. And I don't have to travel with a reference book! Love it.
