The My Smart Hands Baby Sign Language Dictionary app comes with over 300 signs. This Lite version comes with 33 signs and has all the functionality of the original. What is unique about this app is that it is a video dictionary that not only shows you the ASL signs, but also explains how to do them or gives you great memory tips on how to remember and understand them. The full app features over 45 minutes of instructional video from ASL instructor and My Smart Hands founder Laura Berg! This app was created by My Smart Hands (www.mysmarthands.com), an international baby sign language program with over 150 instructors in over 10 countries, under the direction of its founder Laura Berg. Laura has a BA in child studies, an M.Ed and a certificate in ASL and Deaf Studies. She is passionate about education and signing and has brought that passion to My Smart Hands.

Keep track of the signs you want to work on in your own favorites list, and arrange those signs in any order you like. We've included categories so you can quickly and easily find words that are related, like "food," "animals" and "daily routines." It comes with an easy search option, simply type in the word you are looking for and it will come up. And finally, the quiz portion will be great fun while you are learning all of the words in the MSH app. With our quiz you are able to customize the number of questions in the quiz from 3-5 (3-20 in the full version) and you can also customize the difficulty by picking from 2 or 3 answers (2 to 4 in the full version). At the end of the quiz you can check your scorecard, view the signs you missed, and even add them to your favorites to work on later!

free version only an ad (2 stars)
I was hoping for a bit more substance with this freeby. "Girl" but no "boy"? No alphabet? "Use your X hand?" Only two colors in the list?

Not so clear for an adult beginner, and very frustrating. It's quite clear that the "lite" version is not meant to be very useful at all. It's only an ad for the full version. They should acknowledge that up front!

But with such a crippled vocabular

I downloaded this & quickly deleted it. It does not have any of the basic signs you need to teach your infant like "all done," "drink," "hungry, " etc. Very disappointed. Won't pay $4.99 for the full app when I can find the basics on the Internet fir free.

Awesome dictionary (5 stars)
I love the videos, they make it easy to understand and remember the signs. The quiz is fun, I love that you can select the difficulty. Great new app. I'm going to go buy the full version now!
