Labor and Contraction Timer by Michael Kale

Labor and Contraction Timer Screenshots

Description

Easily time labor contractions. A handy one-button interface to start and stop the timer, it also lists the duration and spacing of the last contraction, the average and count for the last 20 minutes, and the last hour. The app times contractions from the start of one to the start of the next, as recommended by childbirth coaches. This app has been downloaded by over 150,000 people to assist with the birth of their children.

The 20 minute average lets you see if your contractions are increasing or decreasing relative to the last hour. The hour average and count lets you decide when to go to the hospital or birthing center.

Record the intensity of each contraction and use the handy charts to view the intensity, count, and spacing of contractions over time. Record notes with each contraction and review them in the history list. Edit or delete past contractions to fix typos or adjust the start time or duration of each one.

Email your list of contractions to yourself or your birthing team to monitor progress or document the event.

The app remembers all data and whether you were in the middle of a contraction or not between launches, so you can jump back and forth between this and your favorite game or another app to distract you during and between contractions.

Note that there is a "lite" version of this app, called Contraction Timer Lite. It is missing the intensity/notes for each contraction, the charts, and the ability to email your list of contractions. (And it has ads.) It is useful if you want to test this app out for a bit before buying it. Thanks!

What's New in Version 1.4.3.1

Customer Reviews

Exactly what we were looking for (5 stars)
We tried several contraction timers, and this one was by far the best.

Features we found here that were hard to find in other apps:

1) Timer measures from start of one contraction to the start of the next.
2) You can edit the length of contractions, not just delete
3) Undo stop
4) Email results
5) Helpful, insightful charts

This app was incredibly useful and definitely worth the purchase.

Worked perfectly! (5 stars)
Used it last week during the labor of my daughter. Was way easier than writing down with pen and paper. My husband just pressed the button and then could get back to concentrating on me. The times I needed to record it, it didn't take too much brain power. Was helpful to be able to edit for times we messed something up. I even emailed my early contraction record to my husband at work to tell it was time for him to come home. App helped up de

Great app! (5 stars)
Worth the 99 cents for the full app. I was able to log and see charted contraction frequency and intensity in a snap which made it easy to tell when things were ready to roll (3rd pregnancy so I knew the drill).
