The go-to (5 stars)
While it has it's limitations, Loopy is my favorite app for sketching out ideas quickly and easily. Nine times out of ten, I have loopy selected as my audiobus output. The UI is quite intuitive and streamlined. Furthermore, (and I can't overstate how important this is) Loopy is very stable as an audiobus out. Crashes are all too common when running multiple apps in conjunction with audiobus, but loopy rarely fails. Great app.

Incredible (5 stars)
This is my favorite music app on the App Store, and I have dozens of them. Any time I write a song Loopy HD is the first app I go to. It's really stable, has extensive midi support, the best clock sync on iOS, and is fun and intuitive. I don't just use it for live looping, I also use it for recording loops to then insert into more traditional DAWs like Cubasis or Beatmaker 2.

Great looper app for beats and performance (5 stars)
If you are thinking about getting a hardware looper like the Boss RC-300, seriously consider this as an option. It does need some hardware investment to be a serious musical tool, but if you just want to play, get the $3.00 IPhone version. Super user configurable for MIDI controls. Integration with Audiobus is seamless. Love this app.
