With OnSong, you can manage huge collections of chord sheets for your band or worship team on a simple, lightweight device. Quickly pull and reorder lists and flip from one song to the next with ease. Transpose and highlight chords or change font size with a brush of your finger! Playing music has never been more simple. This software is built for live performance musicians.

You can import songs directly from online sources, or add your own songs with the built-in editor. Just type the song like you would expect and surround your chords in square brackets inline with your lyrics. It's that easy! OnSong automatically detects sections and titles for you when you end them with a colon.

You can also import your existing songs using iTunes file sharing. OnSong supports PDF, Word, Pages, JPG, PNG, TIFF, ChordPro and text file formats.

When you have your set just the way you want it, share it with your band members over Bluetooth with their iPads. Listen to the song your are playing directly from your iPod library, play a metronome or get the music iTunes with just one click.

What's New in Version 1.941

We are continuing to work to improve OnSong! Here are all the things we've done:

• Fixed a problem where the AirTurn pedal type was non-responsive
• Fixed an issue where changing paper sizes did not affect prints/emails right away
• Fixed issues with the Czech translation including a crash while entering in-app settings (thank Lagya)
• Fixed an issue where colons in the song title, album or artist was causing MP3 files to not stay linked
• Fixed an issue where text was not localized in headers and footers in settings
• Fixed an issue where sharing a song or set can cause the song or set to be removed from the sharer's library
• Fixed an issue where sticky notes do not move on external video when viewing a PDF file.
• Fixed a crash condition when displaying PDF files on an external video screen
• Fixed a crash when entering song reporting
• Fixed an issue when sharing songs wirelessly would remove the song from the sharer's library
• Fixed an issue with hot corners and showing the song list not working on either iPad or iPhone
• Fixed an issue with removing "The" in the song list and sorting
• Fixed an issue with placement of music in the playback menu on the iPhone/iPod touch when opening in landscape mode
• Fixed an issue when attempting to tweet a set list on iOS 4.x devices. Now it opens the tweet in the Twitter application if available, or prompts for installation
• Fixed an issue where when a menu is loaded on the iPhone, and the screen rotated, and the menu closed, the song viewer is set to the wrong orientation
• Changed the way RWTC verification occurs. Only shows authenticate issue now if the song is accessed.
• Changed the song editor to disable the "toggle chord style" button if the ChordPro format is detected
• Added better detection of insertable chord types in the song editor. For instance, if a chord is inserted within lyrics, the chord will be inserted with brackets.
• Added the A5 paper size
• Added the Afrikaans translation, accessible from Settings › Display Settings › Langauge (thanks Tiff)
• Added an "International Characters Last" option in Settings › Song Navigation to places special characters at the bottom of the list instead of next to their cousins.
• Added an option in Settings › Layout Options › Hide Chorus Label that allows the "Chorus:" label to be removed when using soc/eoc tags
• Added an activity indicator to the share screen when an option is tapped
• Updated the Russian translation

Exactly what I was looking for! (5 stars)
Wow. Ever since I got my iPad, I've been looking for an app that could easily search for, compile and create song tabs, but also allow for transposing keys, scrolling the music as you are playing, and showing guitar chords in case you run across an unusual one you don't know. This does all that, and does so with an incredibly intuitive editing system and good use of finger swipes and gestures to take full advantage of the iPad medium. Back

Great app (5 stars)
This really seems to be a wonderful song writing and chord entry app written by an incredibly talented group of people. It has so many functions and usability modes. I really wish I was a song writer.

I am curious whether it can be used for text editing in general as well.

Absolutely love this thing. Its been a real pain not having a way to autoscroll through chords as well as make sure the band is all playing in the same key off the same set lists.

Highly recommend. Very robust and feature filled.
