SomaFM's official iPhone player for iOS 4.0 and above, giving you access to 20 year-round (plus seasonal holiday) channels of listener-supported, commercial-free, underground/alternative radio.

Features include:

- Background streaming: use other apps while playing SomaFM channels.

- aacPlus (AAC-HE) support for highest quality audio (on selected channels).

- Remote control: Pause and restart playing as well as skip between favorite channels from your headphone remote (as well as by swiping right after hitting the Home button twice to get the audio player controls).

- View and pick stations by Popularity, Genre or just see your favorites

- Shows name and artist of currently playing song and history of songs played.

It takes Pandora and Last FM out behind the school and mugs them for their lunch money. This is the one app I've been waiting for more than any other. If you like it, consider donating to the station to help keep them on the air.

It's like having your own portable hepster cocktail lounge. Best served with something infused. And a blue-cheese stuffed olive.
