The in app purchase option FreshMaps provides quarterly map updates for at least two years. The service uses trusted, field-verified, and quality-controlled map and points of interest updates from NAVTEQ to make sure the NAVIGON app provides the most accurate and reliable directions possible. This saves you time and headaches on the road.

NAVIGON MyMaps:NAVIGON MyMaps allows you to carry only the country maps you currently need. Meaning you have more memory space for photos, music and other apps.

Positioning your iPhone correctly in the vehicle is very important to ensure optimal GPS reception! We recommend that you use the NAVIGON Design Car Kit for the iPhone, which includes both a designer suction pad holder and a car charger, enabling you to charge your iPhone during the journey. Version 2.0 included a new map update feature called FreshMaps. FreshMaps is a premium service that NAVIGON adapted from their successful line of PNDs (personal navigation devices) in Europe, whereby for a fee, users can get the latest maps every three months for a period of at least two years. The introduction of this service into the app was planned prior to Garmin’s acquisition of NAVIGON.

Prior to the launch of FreshMaps, free map updates were provided on an irregular basis. In response to customer feedback, we will continue to deliver occasional free map updates in addition to the optional FreshMaps service, which provides more regular and frequent (quarterly) map updates. Note that FreshMaps also upgrades regional versions, such as MyRegion or USA, to the full North American map.

Simply doesn't work (1 star)
I just downloaded Navigon recently, seriously every time I have used it it has taken me to the wrong place or made me take detours that were not needed. Once I reach the wrong destination and realize I am not where I am supposed to be I input the same data (usually cut and paste the address) into the maps app that came on my iPhone for free and it takes me to where I wanted to go. I bought this for the voice directions and the google integra

I finally decided to give up on the dash mount TomTom and get a GPS app for my iPad and iPhone. Reading the negative reviews for so many of the navigation apps made me worried about spending the money, but I finally decided to give Navigon a try and bought the East Coast version. Running iOS 5.1 on both the New iPad and iPhone 4 and the 2.0.2 version of Navigon. It just works great and I can't figure out why so many people give it bum rating

Does not use data. Its accurate. Buy this app. U wont be disappointed. Ignore that negitive reviews. Maybe they dont know how to use it :)
