Visiting the Big Apple? Long time New Yorker on an errand to an unfamiliar part of town?

This simple, handy, and FREE app lets you scroll around a detailed map of the New York City subway system, including all five boroughs. You can double-tap to zoom out for an overview. That's it. The map is saved on your device, so you do not need an Internet connection to view it.

It's not nearly as fancy as some of the paid subway map apps out there, but it's free, fast-loading and very convenient when you are stuck underground with no reception on an unfamiliar line and can't or don't want to make your way over to the map seat to check which stop your connection is at.

Enjoy, and please don't complain that it doesn't make toast - it's just a map.

Exactly what it claims (5 stars)
I am somewhat familiar with NYC and this app was exactly what I wanted - simple and FREE. Like the description says, it doesn't make toast, but I didn't want it to. I suspect that the negative reviews here were written by other app developers, or just plain dummies. If you are completely clueless about NYC and are really going all over the place in a rush, you might prefer another app. But don't expect the MTA's theoretical timetable to hel

This map is wrong (1 star)
This map has several of the subway stops in the wrong locations, which is not helpful at all. The one I found was the rego park stop in queens

Works, even when you have no bars! (5 stars)
I had tried another App first, this one is better because it works even when your in the subway and have no service. The other App only worked when I had phone/GPS/Internet service or whatever.
