Route Planner is ideal for planning a bike ride or run, either for exercising or getting around town.

View an elevation profile of the entire route -- look out for hills!
Add up to 7 intermediate destinations.
Drag the pins along the route around to customize where you want to go.
Automatically chooses trails and streets suited for your choice of biking, running/walking, or driving.
Save routes for later. You can now keep track of your favorite routes without having to re-enter them each time.
Straight line, point-to-point directions. Ideal for when the directions service does not work well, such as on unmapped hiking trails.
Email routes to yourself or friends. Send a GPX file by email, and open it in a map program or on a dedicated GPS device.
List View: Read step-by-step directions, visible at the same time as the map.

★ Stability: Fixed a problem causing crashes for some users.
★ Smart rate limiting: Heavy pin editing would sometimes result in going over the elevation service rate limit. We handle this much better now-- you can make over 300% more route edits before hitting the rate limit.
★ Altitude plot scaling: The elevation profile now scales better to plot only the elevation range of the route.
★ Minor bug fixes: climb data was sometimes slightly off, edit view was sometimes finicky.

Previously I used this app mainly for planning my bike routes. But now with the new list view, I will be using it to plan out my driving routes more often! The only thing I still wish to be added; It would make it so much easier if you could edit route addresses by dragging to change the order that they're in.. it's so tedious having to delete and retype them. This is a well built app ideal for cyclists. I use it to plan my bike trips. It's very helpful to see the elevation.

Update to my review: runs much smoother with the updated version

Very useful, but very crashy. (3 stars)
This is exactly the app I need for planning bike routes without lugging around a laptop!

However, it crashes about 75% of the time that a pin is added or removed, and it also crashes frequently when scrubbing along the elevation chart.

I hope my purchase helps to fund some bugfixes, because this has the potential to be a great app for bike traveling.
