For use with the TomTom car kit for iPhone and TomTom car kit for iPod touch.

Please note: the TomTom car kit tool does not provide turn-by-turn navigation. For TomTom turn-by-turn navigation you will need to purchase the TomTom navigation app.

Install the FREE car kit tool on your iPhone, iPhone 3G/3GS or iPod touch to:
1. Disable the pop-up message that is displayed when you dock into the car kit
2. See the GPS signal strength of your iPhone or iPod touch when docked into the car kit
3. Find product information on your car kit (such as the software version, hardware version, device serial number)

Great accessory, works with non-TomTom apps (5 stars)
Great accessory that even works with non TomTom GPS apps - way to go, TomTom! While it's a little screwy that you need this app to suppress the annoying prompts, it is free and not too hard to find.For those complaining about cases - why? One of the things I love about the iPhone is with it's extreme thinness and tough exterior, a case is totally unnecessary. I love I can just slip my iPhone into my pocket. Much better (4 stars)
The tomtom app works much better with the kit now! GPS signal gets a good lock now like a stand alone device. With charging etc tomtom now kills the competition! The only complaint is that the kit is somewhat loose in that when in landscape mode and you hit a bump it can make the phone swivel back into portrait orientation.

Finally Solid GPS for All Apps! (5 stars)
I live in a small town in southern Wisconsin. My iphone can NEVER get a GPS lock within a 3 mile radius from my home, despite having full reception bars. Sure, Google Maps will throw a pin down, but Gokivo, TomTom, Navigon, and ATT&T Navigator can never get a strong enough signal to calc a route.
