Not great (2 stars)
Crashed a lot. Too many ads. Needed to continuously download it since updating to new iPad software because it kept coming up with the last date I read it.

Ads are bigger than photos (1 star)
The website on Safari is a better experience than this app is. The ads in the articles are bigger than the photos. Can't zoom in on photos so what is the purpose of the photos in the article? Ads are right next to the photos so obviously LA Times is more interested in having us see the ads instead. It's a business I know, but I come here seeking knowledge and information, not marketing. Other newspaper apps are far above the LA Times a

Snails pace improvement over 1st release (3 stars)
Now if it would stop defaulting to Orange County for 'Local' news. I have in interest in what's going on in that far off hell hole.
