I have been using this app almost daily for nearly a year, and I used to subscribe to the no-ad version each month for 99 cents and was glad to do it because of the annoyance of the ads, and because I don't mind supporting apps I truly like and find useful. But the subscription model was withdrawn a couple of months ago, with the promise of a new way of paying/no ad edition on the horizon.
