Instead of trusting on a single developer security knowledge, pwSafe borrows all its encryption code directly from the famous Password Safe open source password manager (http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/).

Password Safe has been originally created by security guru Bruce Schneier and nowadays is maintained by Rony Shapiro. Since it has been around as an open source project for almost a decade now, it has been extensively reviewed by many experts.

Easy upgrade from v1 (5 stars)
pwSafe is the only app that can work with the opensource passwordsafe app. While last pass and others have been web centric, I prefer to know where my safes are. The use of Dropbox in v1 made it really a cross platform product for me (though I do not know if there is a Mac client).

Great upgrade (5 stars)
Touch ID support is a great addition to an already excellent program; it's worth upgrading just for that (and to support a developer of quality apps).

The upgrade from pwSafe 1 was quick and easy; it even imported (for free) the Dropbox support I had already purchased in that version.
